Micronutrient Analysis Orthomolecular Medicine

Why a Micronutrient and Microbiome Analysis?

A detailed analysis of micronutrients in the blood, along with an examination of the gut microbiota, can uncover deficiencies and imbalances before they cause health issues. This allows for preventive adjustments to diet and nutrient intake, as well as targeted measures to support a healthy microbiome.

Diagnostics and Procedures:

  • Medical History: A detailed discussion to gather information about past medical history and current symptoms, aimed at identifying individual risk factors.
  • Blood Analysis: Examination of whole blood, serum, or other bodily fluids to determine the concentration of vitamins, minerals, trace elements, and other micronutrients.
  • Microbiome Analysis: Analysis of the gut flora through stool samples to assess the balance of microbes in the intestine.
  • Consultation: The selection of test parameters is made following a medical consultation and is based on your individual symptoms, risk factors, pre-existing conditions, and health goals. Once the results are available, they will be discussed in detail and medically evaluated during a personal follow-up consultation. Based on this, you will receive personalized recommendations regarding nutrition and lifestyle and—if appropriate—a supplementation plan tailored to your test results.

Duration:

The initial consultation lasts 15 minutes. During this appointment, the next steps are discussed and established on an individual basis.

Preparation:

Before your first consultation: Make a note of the specific information you’d like to learn and the aspects of your health you’d most like to improve. The clearer your expectations are, the better the analysis can be tailored to your individual needs.

For an accurate analysis, it is important to fast before the blood draw. You should avoid taking dietary supplements (except for vitamin D) for one week before your appointment so as not to skew the results.

Costs & Course of treatment:

Before a micronutrient analysis is performed, a medical consultation takes place to select the test parameters that are most appropriate for the individual. Depending on the scope of the service, the cost for this is approximately €40.
The subsequent micronutrient analysis costs starting at approximately €400, depending on the scope of the test.
Once the results are available, a detailed final consultation with a physician will take place, which is billed according to the GOÄ. Upon request, a personalized nutrition and supplementation plan can also be created, which is billed separately according to the GOÄ.
