Diseases of the cardiovascular system remain the most common cause of death in Germany. Timely prevention and treatment is therefore essential. The spectrum ranges from high blood pressure and arteriosclerosis to cardiac arrhythmias and coronary heart disease or myocardial infarction. It mainly affects older people, but the number of sufferers under the age of 50 is increasing. After all, around 30 to 40 percent of all adults in Germany suffer from high blood pressure.
